Fez to Marrakech via Sahara Desert
Day 1 : Fes, Middelt, Azrou, Ziz Valley and Merzouga (camel trek & Night in Sahara).
When you arrive in Fez, your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your Riad/Hotel. Our journey will begin by traveling to Midelte, then to Azrou, which is covered in cedar forest and home to wild monkeys. You will be able to take some interesting photographs here. We’ll eat at Zaida or Midelte for lunch. After lunch, we’ll drive to Ziz Valley through the Atlas Mountains, stopping to admire the Midelte landscapes. Then we proceed to Erfoud city, and the Oasis of Tafilalet, which has an old Souk. From here, we’ll head to Merzouga, where you’ll enjoy camel trekking and spend the night under the stars in the desert.
Day 2: Merzouga, Rissani, Erfoud, Todra Gorges and Dades Boumalne.
After witnessing the sunrise, we will depart Merzouga for Dades, passing through Rissani, known for its old traditional market, and Erfoud, known for its fossils. Following that, we will continue to Tinghir via Tinjdad, where you will have the opportunity to see Berber villages along the way. Furthermore, we will visit Todra Gorges, where many rock climbers come to enjoy their sport of climbing. We will then drive to Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the evening.
Day 3: Dades, Ouarzazate, Ait Benhaddou, Tizi N’tichka and Marrakech.
After breakfast and a shower at the hotel, our journey will continue to Ouarzazate. On the way, we will visit the Berber villages and shops containing fossils, carpets and lamps… Then we continue on to Ouarzazate. We’ll arrive at Skoura oasis by the evening. We then proceed to Marrakech via Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Many films have been shot there, including Gladiator (2000), Mummy (1999), and Babel (2006). From here, we continue on to Tizi N’ticka, the highest major mountain pass in North Africa at 2260 meters above sea level.
